Goose Creek Studio was born from a process of discernment as to how best build
on our previous experiences in art production, framing, education and programming. Bedford provides a logical place for this
endeavor because of our existing roots in the area and a growing and vibrant arts community that exists in the region. The name of the business and logo are reflective of Bedford County and our desire to foster
a connection between art and spirituality in our own work and the work displayed in the shop's art galleries. The goose
is an ancient symbol of the Holy Spirit in Celtic art and mythology. It is the Spirit's power that enkindles in all people
the gifts and talents to create and illustrate the beauty of God and the creation. The image of the goose in our logo
is based on images found in the medieval illustrations of the Book of Kells.
